Here is the first piece of “Kusatsu Music Archive”! It is the 1st movement from the Symphony in F major, K.19a which is said to have been composed at the age of 9. The piece was discovered in Munich in 1980, the year the 1st Kusatsu International Summer Music Academy & Festival was held, and was first premiered in Japan the following year in Kusatsu.
The orchestra at the time consisted of conductor Koji Toyoda and the students of the Academy, along with several professors and artists. The lightness of the Allegro makes you feel the momentum of the music festival that just started and the youth of the students. This is a highly recommended performance by the director! Please enjoy it with the nature and scenery of the festival.
