【Kusatsu Music Archive】Wolfgang Schulz, Naoko Yoshino & Kimbo Ishii 2012

The 17th piece of “Kusatsu Music Archive” is the 2nd movement from the Mozart’s concerto for flute and harp in C Major, K.299 (297c). Wolfgang Schulz plays the flute and Naoko Yoshino plays the harp with Kusatsu Festival Orchestra under the direction of Kimbo Ishii.
Many famous flutists have participated in Kusatsu Music Festival including Wolfgang Schulz, who was the principal flutist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. His teacher Aurèle Nicolet and Nicolet’s teacher André Jaunet were also the professors at Kusatsu. Wolfgang Schulz participated in the festival a total of 10 time since 1998, and there was a year in which Nicolet and Schulz came together. A year before his sudden death, Wolfgang Schulz participated in the festival in 2012 which was his last, and the theme of the festival was Debussy and Mozart, and he was very active. we will introduce the Mozart’s concerto performed with world-renowned harpist Naoko Yoshino who had been performing with him for many years.
