The 41st Kusatsu International Summer Music Academy & Festival has unfortunately been cancelled due to the worldwide spread of COVID-19. Although the music festival cannot be held, we have received messages from seven of the faculty members who were planning to participate in this year’s festival.

Antoni Wit
Conductor/Participated in the 10th (1990), 11th, 25th, 35th and 36th Kusatsu International Summer Music Academy & Festival.
Antoni Wit is one of the most highly regarded Polish conductors and a champion of Polish music. A top prize winner at the Herbert von Karajan International Conducting Competition in 1971 and an assistant to Herbert von Karajan at the Easter Festival in Salzburg he subsequently worked with all of the leading orchestras in Poland. He was Chief Conductor of the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice before he held the post of General and Artistic Director of the Warsaw Philharmonic for twelve years until the end of the 12/13 season. Antoni Wit enjoys an international career with major orchestras throughout Europe, America and the Far East.
