【Kusatsu Music Archive】Edith Mathis, Anthony Spiri & Wolfgang Boettcher 2000

The 12th piece of “Kusatsu Music Archive” is G.H.Stölzel : Aria ‘Bist du bei mir’, [BWV508] from “2. Notenbuch der Anna Magdalena Bach”. Edith Mathis sings, Anthony Spiri plays the cembalo and Wolfgang Boettcher plays the cello.
Edith Mathis, who is a world-renowned soprano and extremely popular in our country, appeared in Kusatsu Music Festival from the 18th to 22nd. For the five years, Ernst Haefliger was also participated in the festival, and they are splendid faculty of voice. Edith Mathis captivated the audiences with her pure voice, not only in her operas but also in her oratorios and Bach pieces. We will introduce the performance from the 21st Kusatsu Music Festival in 2000 on the theme of Bach. Anthony Spiri, who is an acclaimed Lied accompanist, and Wolfgang Boettcher, who is a great cellist from Berlin, performs together.
