German conductor Johanna Malangré has been noted for her electrifying musicality and imaginative leadership. She has been Music Director of the Orchestre de Picardie in France since September 2022.

Upcoming highlights include her debut in Japan with Nagoya Symphony Orchestra and South America as well as first appearances with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and the Gewandhaus Orchestra. In the past, she has been invited to conduct orchestras such as the Orchestre National de Lyon, Orchestre National de France, Dortmund Philharmonic, Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, lead stage productions at the Opéra de Lille and the Opéra de Nice and record for ERATO/Warner Classics with cellist Gautier Capucon.

A special bond connects her with the Lucerne Festival. Starting as Conducting Fellow in 2017 she has since been invited back several times to conduct the LFCO and will return again in September 2025 as guest conductor. Her fine instinct for classic modern composers like Schönberg, Berg and Weber as well as contemporary music has led her to commission and programme new works with Lisa Streichs´ violin concerto NEROLI or Raquel Garcia-Thomas Las constellaciones que más brillan being prominent examples. Malangrés natural musical home is the early romantic repertoire of Schubert, Mendelssohn and Schumann. Choral symphonic music also holds a special place in her activity as conductor and she has recently led Mozart Requiem, Haydn The Creation and Schönberg Friede auf Erden.
