The 39th Kusatsu International Summer Music Academy and Festival

The purpose of this Academy is not only to acquire superior playing techniques, but also to pursue for wider musical experiences and knowledge through direct contact with top musicians who are invited from all over the world.

* CONTEMPORARY MUSIC class is only available for Piano class

 

LESSONS:

Lessons time from 9:00 to 12:00 the schedule may vary depending on the professor’ availability. Professional accompanists will be arranged and practice rooms and pianos will be available. (Piano with rental fees)

FEES:

¥98,000 all full-term classes (tax included)

¥57,000  Horn class and Contemporary Music (Piano; Canino & Takahashi)  class (tax included)

Includes admission to concerts, open lessons and lectures for the term enrolled.

Japanese / English / German / Italian

 

We are offering more classes and activities for the festival as below.

 

CHORAL CLASS

August 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th(concert day).

PROGRAM:To be announced

LESSONS:

August 23rd (13:00-15:00/19:30-21:30), 24th and 25th (10:00-12:00/19:30-21:30).

CONCERT:

August 26th 16:00-18:00  (Generalprobe: 13:00-15:00)

OPEN LESSON

Certain master class lessons will be open to the public. This will be of special interest to passive students, as well as music lovers in general.

FEE:

¥1,300 (tax included) per lesson / lecture

DATE and TIME:

August 22th-28th general.

Details will be updated soon

 

CHAMBER MUSIC CLASS

Other than those enrolling to the master class, participation to the chamber music class will be accepted on the group basis.

LESSONS:

3 lessons will be given from the period of August 18th – 23rd or August 24th – 29th. 9:00-12:00. Students are expected to choose the work related to the theme of the year.

Please inform us the period of either first or latter half when you apply.

FEE:

Quartet ¥46,000 (tax included)

Quintet ¥41,000 (tax included)

(shown as per one person, including the admission of the concerts, open lessons and lectures)

 

AUDITING

It is possible to audit any lessons of master classes as passive students. Full term, half term and per day rates are available.

FEE:

Full term(August 17th-30th) ¥47,000 / half term (any 6 consecutive days) ¥31,000, including admission to concerts, open lessons and lectures for the term enrolled.

Or ¥3,100 per day, only for auditing, not including the concert ticket.

All fees are non-refundable after payment. Letters of recommendation or graduation diplomas are submitted upon application. Indicate the works you wish to study, so that the accompanists can be prepared in advance.

At least one work should be related to the theme of the year.
