The 40th Kusatsu International Summer Music Academy and Festival
The purpose of this Academy is not only to acquire superior playing techniques, but also to pursue for wider musical experiences and knowledge through direct contact with top musicians who are invited from all over the world.

Lessons time from 9:00 to 12:00 the schedule may vary depending on the professor’ availability. Professional accompanists will be arranged and practice rooms and pianos will be available. (Piano, Cembalo, and Organ with rental fees)

We are offering more classes and activities for the festival as below.
Fumiaki Kuriyama will supervise lessons and Maestro Milan Turković will conduct the concert. Participation is open to both amateurs and professionals.

August 22nd (13:30-15:30/19:30-21:30), 23rd and 24th (10:00-12:00/19:30-21:30), 25th (25th is the day of Chorus Concert).

Certain master class lessons will be open to the public. This will be of special interest to passive students, as well as music lovers in general.

CHAMBER MUSIC CLASS
Other than those enrolling to the master class, participation to the chamber music class will be accepted on the group basis.
3 lessons will be given from the period of August 18th – 23rd or August 24th – 29th. 9:00-12:00. Students are expected to choose the work related to the theme of the year.
Please inform us the period of either first or latter half when you apply.

It is possible to audit any lessons of master classes as passive students. Full term, half term and per day rates are available.
Full term(August 17th－31st) ¥47,000 / Half term (any 6 consecutive days) ¥31,000, including admission to concerts (excluding Popular Concert on August 26th and 40th Anniversary Concert Ⅱ on the 29th), open lessons and lectures for the term enrolled.
Or ¥3,100 per day, only for auditing and open lesson, not including the concert ticket.

*Letters of recommendation or graduation diplomas is optional as additional information. *Indicate the works you wish to study, so that the accompanists can be prepared in advance. *At least one work should be related to the theme of the year. Please send us the sheet music of accompany if your repertoire is not standard for your instrument.
