Prof. <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Bousfield<\/span><span lang=\"ja\"> will be performing <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Rachmaninoff: Sonata in G Minor on Aug.23rd, <\/span><span lang=\"ja\">Gr\u00f8ndahl<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">: Trombone Concerto on Aug.26th, Takemitsu: Garden Rain and Webern: Langsamer Satz f\u00fcr Streichquartett on Aug.29th.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>[Interview with Prof.Bousfield]<br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Academy:<\/span> What is your opinion about the benefit of attending the masterclass in Kusatsu as a student?<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Prof. Bousfield:<\/span>\u00a0Kusatsu is such a relaxing environment where the student and teacher have plenty of time to get to know and understand each other. The student and teacher are in many ways living with each other. The student also has the opportunity to hear the advice of the made reality when the teacher performs at a very high level.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Academy:<\/span> What attracts you to join for the festival as a teacher and an artist?<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Prof. Bousfield:<\/span>\u00a0The balance between pedagogy and performance is just right. One can teach in a comfortable environment and the quality of the concerts is excellent with large, enthusiastic audiences in a great hall. And of course Hiroshi Isaka, secretary general, always thinks of repertoire that is a major challenge! Kusatsu is rewarding but always a challenge.
