He played with many important orchestras and in the centers of the musical world (Carnegie-Hall, New York, Tchaikovsky-Hall, Moscow, Bunka Kaikan, Tokyo, Berliner Philharmonie), and with conductors as Herbert von Karajan, Sergiu Celibidache, Seiji Ozawa, Daniel Barenboim and others. Yehudi Menuhin, Witold Lutos\u0142awski and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau had a deep influence on him as an artistic personality. Up to summer 1976 he was solo cellist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. He left this position to devote exclusively to his career as a soloist and chamber music player and overtook a professorship at the Berlin Universit\u00e4t der K\u00fcnste. He made first performances of Lutos\u0142awski, Dutilleur, A.Reimann, Klebe and others.
